Team Mentors: Ivica Kolarić, Damjan Županić
Team Eulida Cro Team, based in Croatia, is comprised of two students, Luka Kolarić and David Županić, under the mentorship of Ivica Kolarić and Damjan Županić. Our team is part of the Hrvatsko Društvo za Robotiku, where we have honed our robotics skills and gained valuable experience in competitive environments. We are competing in the CoSpace Advanced category, which challenges us to push the boundaries of our knowledge and creativity.

We have participated in many RoboCupJunior Rescue Simulation competitions. We have dedicated significant time and effort to prepare, learn, and innovate to meet the competition’s demands. Our efforts paid off and we became European champions in Rescue Simulation.
Our strategy in the Rescue Simulation competition focuses on efficient and thorough exploration of the environment to rescue targets (objects). We employ a combination of random path planning and dynamic obstacle avoidance to ensure our robot can adapt to the unpredictable nature of the simulated environment. Key aspects of our strategy include:
– Path Planning: Utilizing random navigation to systematically cover the search area and using the coordinates in the second world for navigating to the deposit.
Our innovative algorithms include a dynamic mapping system that uses coordinates and navigates the robot to the deposit and the environment. This system allows the robot to go to the deposit and avoid redundant spinning around the map.
Participating in the RoboCupJunior Rescue Simulation has been a significant learning experience for our team. We have developed a deep understanding of robotics, programming, and algorithm design. This journey has also taught us the importance of teamwork, perseverance, and continuous improvement.
Looking forward, we plan to enhance our robot’s capabilities by improving our techniques to and possibly navigating the robot to the super objects. We also aim to develop a more sophisticated obstacle avoidance system.
We would like to express our gratitude to our mentors, Ivica Kolaric and Damjan Županić, for their guidance and support throughout this project. Additionally, we thank the Hrvatsko Društvo za Robotiku for providing us with the resources and platform to pursue our passion for robotics.
